What is meditation?

Meditation is a way to turn inward. We direct our mind to where we want it to be. We can connect with ourself, people or places. We can connect with Mother Earth, or some will use the technique to connect with the source of life itself, God.

During the meditative process, we are fully awake and aware. We learn to observe our thoughts and not to react to them.

Goal

The aim is to quiet our mind and to experience our true inner state – peace, happiness, freedom, bliss and connection.

HOW TO MEDITATE

Find a simple and quiet place where you will not be disturbed

Sit on a chair or on a cushion on the floor. Be comfortable

Keep your back straight and your eyes closed

Start with observing your breath and focus on slowing and deepening your inhale and exhale

Bring your awareness slowly to your body and allow your muscles to relax

By allowing this experience, we deepen our connection to our planet Earth. When we nurture our relationship with Mother Earth, we are ultimately healing ourselves and supporting all humanity.

We are fully aware that we can’t erase all negativity and suffering. Yet even when a few of us meditate, the changes within us will affect our surroundings.
